Halloween evokes various notions of its history, meaning - are just as varied - contributing to the manner in which it is celebrated. One common denominator for the majority regarding Halloween: Confusion.
Carnival, Mardi Gras, Saint Valentine, Saint Patrick, Easter & Christmas - have transformed into commercialized, corrupted days of celebration and debauchery. Yet, the majority - Christians or not - do realize, even in the slightest - the who, what & why - as these particular Catholic feast days and their (distilled) elements, the (reconstituted) notions - is now pop culture. And, arguably, Halloween is the most convoluted.
